Great beers better service a definite must stop spot downtown

I talked to a musician in the park by the fountain and he recommended I go to Toucans that night for drinks and good music, I was not disappointed. The bartenders Were extremely friendly, if I were local I'd be there every weekend and know them by name. The local brew was phenomenal and they were cool enough to let me roll a joint at the bar real quick to take a smoke out back. We tipped big that night, I'll be back one day.

A Kingston classic. This pub is woven into the fabric of the town. Saturday, it is the best place to watch some footie and is just a great place to relax, have a pint and share some bites. In the summer, the patio is great, located in a historic courtyard and in the winter, the warm cozy atmosphere and historically styled seating takes you back to the pubs of the old country. You can enjoy the crowd if you are on your own, as a group or a cozy corner as a couple. This pub has something for everyone.

Never had a dull moment here. And after a year still my go to bar. Always has great specials, the staff is really friendly even comped my drink after I proceeded to spill it all over myself and tons and tons of room. Downstairs, main floor upstairs and patio. Great food, great drinks, great time.

We had lunch here on a cool spring day in May. The service was friendly and cheerful in this authentic pub. The menu selection is large and tasty. Portions are very adequate. I'm sure the beer selection is very good - unfortunately for me I was driving. No surprises, just a good pub.

Great pub atmosphere next to/ part of a really cool little alleyway. Food was good, service was excellent, and the prices were rock bottom. We'll be coming back for sure!

TONS of live music and the perfect pint of Guiness!

They had Gold Wing playing their last Monday gig. The band was so well put together that they had seamless transitions when a guest was added on stage! The food was filling and a very nice portion. They have Strongbow available on tap as well. First time I have drank it and I liked it a lot. Good cider choice!

A historic Kingston pub to share a pint with family. Definitely a must go to!

Irish pub that’s a dive bar. Popular hangout for Queen’s University students and others. There’s an upstairs and downstairs area, as well as a patio in a quiet courtyard. Cheap daily food specials, good beer options. Live music and soccer/rugby matches are sometimes available. Dark and cozy, a good spot for hanging out with friends.

Bad experience. Bartender guy with glasses was rude and didn't even care about us being here. Yelled across the bar to the table we were sitting at to ask for our drink order and then gave me the wrong drink. Everytime I order food with him he gets it wrong. He came over to give cutlery and just tossed it on the table and my husband said thank you and he didn't even acknowledge him and walked away. Food is always good here though so thank you to the kitchen staff for doing a great job.

Was here a few times on Brier weekend... Considering how busy the whole city was, they did alright with service. The food was your standard pub quality food. Not amazing, but above average.

My boyfriend and I go here every Saturday for the great breakfast. The staff of The Toucan is the best I've ever come across. I feel like a friend, and I've never had a bad meal or experience. The morale seems to be high for staff as well, and that's something I always look for. One of my favourite places in Ontario ❤️

One of my absolute favourite locations in Kingston. Whether you want friendly pub with occasional intimate live music (up front), a nice patio in an eclectic alleyway (to the side) or an underground bar that rocks with a great selection of heavier bands (downstairs), this place has it all!

Great food, great place to go for a few drinks. Usually have good live music.Only downfall is, the patio lighting is so dim that by the time your food arrives your fighting to keep your eyes open. If you havnt Tried their food, give it a shot

I was pleasantly surprised what a happening place The Toucan is for a Thursday night. So much fun and great customer service. Two thumbs up!!!!

After several dismal dining experiences in Gananoque we needed some good food. We ended up In Kingston at The Toucan. I had the beef pie with gravy and fries and my wife had the fish fry. Both were awesome as was the service and choice of beers. We have eaten there several times over the years and always had a good experiance. Will go again next time we are in Kingston.

The band was fantastic. I don't remember much else... ... ...

The shericha burger is very juicy, highly recommended. Chicken nacho is also delicious.

Their service and drinks are always good and will be the highlight of your night out. At the very least you will be leaving satisfied with the experience. Great atmosphere and welcoming environment, a popular spot in downtown Kingston.

Great place to watch football/soccer. They have most of the sports channels and a few screens to choose. The beer menu could be better though. I know you guys are getting beer from the Riverhead brewery, add the Hawaian IPA, great beer.

This was my favourite spot for a while, but I recently had really bad experiences there. The bartender forgot to bring my order and was SO rude when I asked for it. My friends also had similar experiences. The food is great though ...

Our first experience here and we loved it

Nice place.Went with my sister and mother during a recent dinner out and had a good time. Service was good, and so was the food. It's an unpretentious place with an unpretentious crowd.

If your expectations are not high you'll walk out a happy person. Great pub atmosphere. Always go there when in Kingston:)

THE standard for a local pub. Welcoming, relaxed and everyone seems happy, staff and patrons. Men's bathroom is cramped and gross. Kinda fun. Always cover free music playing down below. A complete lack of pretention. 10 out of 10

Skip the big lineups ar the fancy breakfast places and go to the toucan.opens at 11am. Every Sunday order a drink and your breakfast is 5$. No line ups, great service. Awesome patio and sports are always on the big screen. Give it a try.

Services was slow when we originally arrived at the pub. Waiter/Waitress eventually arrived but seemed very unenthusiastic Once a table exited the premises she seemed much better.Just had drinks with no food. In fairness it was the end of the night so band had packed up. Bar in the lower level had many people, a few who had toooo much to drink but we're deal with. Service was slow and the beginning but picked up much better later in the evening. Thanks.

We attended on Christmas day. It's a small hole in the wall of a pub however it has a great atmosphere and friendly staff.The food we ordered was delicious. Of particular note the fries and gravy weren't overly salty which was awesome. Everything was well cooked and portions were very nice.The alcohol is pricey however Pricing on food is decent and would recommend for a quick bite. Will come back for sure.

Excellent pub!!! The staff was super helpful giving us tips on what to see around town. The last words our server said were " of course you should end your night back here" And we did!!!! Thanks "Zachary"!!! Lol. 😉

They do have a limited menu of the throwback specials but you're sure to find something you like. There are apps, soups, salads, handhelds and some adult beverages. Husband enjoyed the Toucan burger which had nice charred exterior and was good size at 7 oz. I had veggie burger because it had avocado slices on it. Husband liked the fries better than I did because I like them crisper.

Always a great treat coming to this place! I have never had bad service, never have not been entertained by great music, beer is always cold, and shots have always been poured just right. Even when there is not any live entertainment, the staff provide ample amounts of incredible conversation and might throw you the house darts to test your luck at an adventurous game of around the world with strangers or great friends alike

Great service and prices! Really enjoyed the chicken - antijitos and salad weren't great but hey dinner for 2 with apps and drinks was 40 bucks.
